Parents top up online.

Cards, mobile money, bank transfers. Money settles directly to your school’s bank account.

Installments settle automatically.

When a parent pays, the system applies the money to their child’s overdue installments first. No manual matching.

You see who paid, who’s late, and why.

Not just totals. Patterns. Which classes pay on time, which families need a phone call, which fees stick.

The why · 03 frustrations we keep hearing

What schools tell us
they hate.

Before we built anything, we sat in bursars’ offices and watched. These three complaints came up at every single school. The product is the answer.

We can’t tell who’s paid until we go through the receipt book.

Bursar · 420-pupil school, Accra

What Manabi doesA live wallet for every student. Bursar opens the page, sees the balance. No reconciling at month-end — the totals are always today’s totals.

Parents say they paid but we have no record.

Headteacher · 280-pupil school, Tema

What Manabi doesEvery payment leaves a receipt trail — date, amount, channel, reference. Searchable by name, phone, or reference number in under a second.

End of term, we’re hunting for thousands across hundreds of students.

School owner · 650-pupil school, Kasoa

What Manabi doesReports show overdue invoices oldest first, with the parent’s phone number ready to dial. You stop hunting and start calling.

Setup · Three steps

How it works.

You’re live in a morning. Most institutions import their students from a spreadsheet, generate term or semester invoices in one click, and start collecting the same week.

01

Add your students
and fee structures.

Bulk-import from a spreadsheet. Edit grade fees, sibling discounts, scholarships any time.

About 30 mins for 500 students
02

Generate invoices
for the term.

One click per class. Each invoice splits into installments. Parents are notified by SMS and email.

One click per class · Templates re-used
03

Parents pay through
the app or in person.

Cash, mobile money, bank transfer, online. All channels flow into one wallet per student.

For parents · 03 minutes to learn

Parents see exactly
what they owe.

Your parents top up from their phone. The wallet auto-pays the next installment. They get a receipt the moment money lands. No more “I sent it — did you receive it?”

  • Card, MoMo, bank transfer. Whichever the parent already uses.
  • No app to download. Opens in the browser. Works on the cheapest phone.
  • Multi-child families. One login, all your kids’ wallets in one place.
  • English and Twi. More languages as we expand.
Reports · For people who manage, not just record

The reports
that matter.

Every other school fees tool stops at “list of payments.” We treat the bursar as a manager. Two reports we’re proud of:

Family payment behaviour

Three buckets so you know who to chase, and who to thank.

Reliable — pay before due date142 students · 58%
Need a reminder — usually pay 1–2 weeks late76 students · 31%
Chronic — structural shortfall, sit down with26 students · 11%

→ Write 26 calls, not 244.

Term collection curve

% collected against days since term start. This term overlaid on last term.

→ Predict cashflow. Catch shortfalls early.

Pricing · Three lines, no surprises

No setup fee.
No subscription.

We make money when you collect money. That’s the whole arrangement. The third line is the most important — we never hold your funds.

Trust · Who’s behind it

Made by people
who’ve sat in the bursar’s chair.

We’re a small team based in Accra. Built on Paystack for payments — a name your bank already knows. Real photos and pilot institutions below (placeholders here while we get permission).

FAQ · The five questions every administrator asks

Questions
administrators ask.

The objections we hear in the first ten minutes of every demo. Here they are answered up front.

What does it actually cost?+
No setup fee. No monthly subscription. 1% on online payments — card, mobile money, bank transfer. Cash and bank transfers handed over in person are free to record. See the pricing section for a worked example.
What if our internet goes down?+
The cash payments screen works offline. Bursars record cash receipts as normal, and the app syncs the moment connectivity comes back. Online payments queue up at the parent’s end too — nothing is lost.
What about parents who don’t have smartphones?+
They don’t need one. School staff record the parent’s cash payment manually against the child’s wallet, the same way they always have — and the parent still gets an SMS receipt to a basic phone.
How do we actually get our money?+
Online payments settle directly to your school’s bank or mobile-money account on the processor’s normal settlement schedule (T+1 in Ghana). Manabi never holds your funds. We don’t have a wallet you have to withdraw from.
Can we leave if it’s not working?+
Yes. Export your students, fees, and payment history any time, in spreadsheet format. No lock-in. No exit fee. We’d rather you leave easily and come back later than feel trapped.
